The Devonshire Soup Company is Situated in the beautiful village of Great Torrington.
50 New Street is one of the oldest buildings in the village.
Prieviously West Country Pasties, The Devonshire Soup Company was able to walk straight into a purpose built catering facility.
50 New Street started its life over 100 years ago as Darchs Butchers, a slaughter house run by the Darch family, outside one of our storage rooms, you can still see the iron ring that cattle would be tied to.
Due to the age of the buildings and the purpose of our business, we had to build rooms within rooms. From the outside, the plant is picturesque with hanging baskets and tired walls, but as you go through the doors and through the Flyscreens, you will be standing in a top of art manufacturing facility.
Our plant is split into 10 areas.
Vegetable Station
Meat Station
Fish Station
Cooking Area
High Risk ( Bottling Room )
Chilling
Air Knifing

Wash Up
Our offices are where the shop used to be, Right smack in the middle of New Street, We really are in the centre of a beautiful little village, You could even stand on the doorstep and throw a stone and you could hit St Michaels Church. ( But i don think that Rev.Humberstone would be to happy. )
